How it Works

The Forestry Team will review applications and inspect the planting site to issue a permit. The site is approved if it meets all street tree planting regulations.

If approved...

  • SFPR will send a signed planting permit and $50 voucher to the resident.
  • The site(s) will be marked with white paint and white flags by the City of Sioux Falls.
  • Residents must call One Call 811 to locate underground utilities.

If denied...

  • A letter explaining why will be sent to the resident.
