Street Closure – Sycamore Avenue

Beginning on Friday, April 25, 2025, Sycamore Avenue will be closed from 69th Street to 85th Street to allow crews to begin construction on South Veterans Parkway.  A signed detour will direct traffic to Cliff Avenue and SD Highway 11. Sycamore Avenue will remain closed until project completion, which is expected in late 2026.

South Veterans Parkway is a joint project between the City of Sioux Falls and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT). This work is part of construction of the second segment of South Veterans Parkway from Cliff Avenue to Sycamore Avenue. Construction on this section of new road began in March 2025 and will continue through 2026. Construction of the southern portion of Veterans Parkway will occur in segments, with each segment taking about two years to complete.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
