Monthly, Annual Passes Available for Westside Recreation Center

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation announced that residents can now buy monthly and annual passes for the Westside Recreation Center. This 74,000-square-foot facility will provide indoor recreation in Sioux Falls and features an aquatic facility, sport courts, an indoor track, fitness area, and spaces that can be rented for social gatherings or programmed for activities or classes.

The Westside Recreation Center offers daily, monthly, and yearly pass options that have no cancellation fees. A pass allows access to the Westside Recreation Center facility and its programs. Discounted rates are available for children, adults, seniors, veterans, families, and qualifying individuals. Price options and the link to sign up can be found at siouxfalls.gov/westside.

"A pass to the City's first-ever recreation center gets you access to a variety of activities, classes, and events and all its amenities,” Jackie Nelson, Recreation Manager, said. “In this facility, adults can stay fit and healthy with an indoor track, gymnasium, and self-guided fitness options, or families can enjoy quality time together splashing in the indoor aquatic area or go to a scheduled class together."

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation will offer a range of activities, classes, and events at this indoor facility. With a pass, the public can participate in group fitness classes like cycling, Xplosion, and SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) senior fitness, or enjoy social activities like senior cards and Parents’ Night Out. The aquatics area will offer open swim and water aerobics. The courts will have open gym times and scheduled times for activities like basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and racquetball. "The City is committed to ensuring a smooth transition of operations, with our first day of operations on January 2, 2025. We are excited to welcome existing and new customers to this indoor space allowing the community to our vision for public indoor recreation space," Director of Parks and Recreation Don Kearney said. "We anticipate major improvements to the building in the first year, including roof replacement, court resurfacing, and parking lot renovation. We are actively working to complete these improvements, as well as interior cosmetic upgrades like fresh paint and new carpeting."

The Westside Recreation Center is located at 8701 West 32nd Street, Sioux Falls. Facility hours starting January 2 will be 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
