City Shares Long-Term Vision, Launches New Brand for Namesake Park
Published on November 20, 2024
The City of Sioux Falls announced the launch of The Falls, a new identity for the connected downtown park system encompassing Falls Park, Levitt Shell, the River Greenway, Lloyd Landing, and Jacobson Plaza. This initiative aims to improve the visitor experience and public awareness of the city’s namesake park.
The Falls logo embodies the heart of the city: the iconic Sioux Falls waterfalls. The new visual identity signifies a unified park system, encouraging residents and visitors to explore, connect, and enjoy the diverse offerings of each park.
New wayfinding signage will be installed throughout The Falls to guide visitors and promote exploration of the interconnected park system. Additionally, social media channels on Facebook and Instagram were launched to provide information on ongoing events, amenities, and directions. A dedicated website will launch in 2025. More information can be found at siouxfalls.gov/explorethefalls.
“We’re proud to unveil this new brand identity that reflects the spirit of our community. The Falls brand represents the interconnectedness of our downtown parks,” said Allie Hartzler, Officer of Communications and Culture for the City of Sioux Falls. “By unifying these spaces, we're creating a more engaging and vibrant experience for visitors. The Falls is a place where people come together to connect with nature, culture, and each other.”
The Falls is a system of downtown parks offering a variety of experiences for all ages. From outdoor concerts at the Levitt to yoga classes at Lloyd Landing, ice skating at Jacobson Plaza, and beautiful views of the Big Sioux River waterfalls, The Falls caters to a wide range of interests and experiences. This announcement comes along with a public open house for the Falls Park Master Plan. It also emphasizes easy access and connectivity between all parks within The Falls system.
The City of Sioux Falls invites the public to learn more about the master plan and provide feedback at a public open house on Thursday, November 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Startup Sioux Falls’ MarketBeat Theater.
