Lane Closures – 49th Street

Beginning on Monday, October 14, 2024, the outside westbound lane and the outside eastbound lane on West 49th Street will be closed at the Big Sioux River bridge to allow crews to perform sidewalk repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in one day.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum Bridge Replacement

Beginning on Monday, October 14, 2024, work will start to replace an existing pedestrian bridge in the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. Work includes demolition and reconstruction of the existing bridge, site grading, pavement surfacing, and restoration.

The Park will remain open during the construction of the new bridge. 

Traffic control will be in place.

Project completion will be mid-June 2025.

Lane Closure – 14th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the outside westbound lane of East 14th Street will be closed between Fifth Avenue and First Avenue to allow crews to perform sidewalk improvements.

Weather permitting, all work is expected to be completed within three weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 26th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the eastbound lane on West 26th Street will be closed between Duluth Avenue and Spring Avenue to allow crews to perform Sidewalk Improvements. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the center turn lane.

Weather permitting, all work is expected to be completed within one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 22nd Street

Beginning on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the eastbound lane on West 22nd Street will be closed between Williams Avenue and Garfield Avenue to allow crews to perform Sidewalk Improvements. Traffic will be adjusted to allow one lane of traffic in each direction.

Weather permitting, all work is expected to be completed within two weeks.

Sanitary Sewer Repair – 41st Street

Beginning on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the outside eastbound lane on West 41st Street will be closed just west of the Big Sioux River as well as Westport Avenue from 41st Street to 43rd Street to allow crews to work on the sanitary sewer. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in approximately one week.
