Street Construction Update

Lane Closure – 12th Street

Beginning on Monday, July 15, 2024, the outside westbound lane on West 12th Street between Grange Avenue and West Avenue will be closed to allow crews to perform retaining wall repairs.

All work is expected to be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the southbound lanes and center turn lane of Cliff Avenue will be closed from Chambers Street to Rice Street to allow crews to perform pavement repairs. 

One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction in the northbound lanes.  

In addition, the sidewalk on the west side of Cliff Avenue from Rice Street to 31st Street North/Amidon Street will be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be routed to the east side of Cliff Avenue.

This work is expected to be complete within 4 working days.

Street Closure – Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Saturday, July 20, 2024, South Cliff Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 57th Street to Libby Lane.

The Sioux Falls Street Division will be performing road maintenance work. Weather pending, this work is anticipated to be completed within one day.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes utilizing Minnesota Avenue or Southeastern Avenue.
