Jenna Harris
Policy Advisor
Jenna joined the City team January 3, 2023, in the newly created role of policy advisor. She approaches challenges at the City with a holistic approach that analyzes the goals, impacts, and unintended consequences of policies on City departments, residents, and the community as a whole.
She has previously served the San Diego County (CA) Taxpayers Association as vice president, COO/Chief of Staff. Prior to that, she was deputy chief of staff/community outreach for a San Diego councilmember.
Jenna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sioux Falls. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Marketing from the University of California.
Professional passion: “Making a positive, large-scale, lasting impact on the community I live in. I like to solve problems and think more about the forest than the trees.”
Best part of my job: “Knowing the time I spend at work actually matters. It is about so much more than making money–I am preserving and enhancing the community where I am raising my family.”
Personal interests: I like to be outside―we feed geese at Arrowhead Park, and hike at Great Bear. I enjoy going to concerts (mostly country and those at the Levitt). I like to bake and love interesting, complex red wines!
