Council Member David Barranco

Biography

David Barranco’s 25-year background in law readied him to solve complex disputes efficiently, finding win-win outcomes that benefit all stakeholders. Committed to lower taxes, less regulation, safer streets, responsive government, healthy kids, clean parks, and great schools, he loves engaging the community. David cites his profound faith in “collective intelligence,” acknowledging that no person or group holds a monopoly on brilliance. Rather, with collaboration, we choose the best path forward. Councilman Barranco can be found sharing coffee with residents, brainstorming solutions to our civic challenges. He strives to elevate working families by offering real opportunities and effective services at the lowest possible cost. Quoted in The Dakota Scout, Barranco pledged: “we must safeguard taxpayer dollars, working diligently to deliver good value for the community.” David serves on numerous public committees and boards, respecting diverse voices and building a constructive consensus. As reported by KELO News, his “seven-word philosophy” boils down to “education, infrastructure, small business, and public safety.” Deeply honored to represent the Southeast District.

David is married to his forever love, Catherine. Their sons attend Harvey Dunn Elementary.
