The Authority Commissioners serve on a five-member committee with the responsibility of managing and maintaining the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

Such duties include approving budgets and expenditures, awarding contracts, entering into legal agreements and leases, and ensuring all grant assurances are maintained with the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Authority has the power to tax, zone, bond, purchase or acquire property.
