Mayor Paul TenHaken will deliver the 2026 State of the City address at 4 p.m. Monday, March 23, from the Canopy by Hilton at the Steel District. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. This year’s address will be the last of TenHaken’s second mayoral term.

Dunham Park – Marion Rd Access

Published on March 20, 2026

Beginning on Monday, March 23, at 8:30 am, the Marion Road entrance to Dunham Park will be closed to allow City crews to participate in flood control training. The Christopher Avenue entrance to Dunham Park will remain open.

The training session is expected to be complete and the entrance reopened by 11:30 am the same day.

Bike Trail - Veterans Parkway

Published on March 19, 2026

Beginning on Thursday March 19, 2026, the bike trail along Veterans Parkway from Madison Street to Rice Street will be closed due to site restoration from 2025 construction activity.

Lane and Sidewalk Closure – North Minnesota Avenue

Published on March 19, 2026

Beginning on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., the outside northbound lane of North Minnesota Avenue, starting on West Ninth Street, will be closed. The closure will continue into the existing construction. The east sidewalk will be closed along North Minnesota Avenue.

Nominating Petitions for City Election Due March 24

Eligible Sioux Falls voters who want their names placed on the June 2 city election ballot must submit their nominating petitions to the city clerk at Carnegie Town Hall, 235 W. 10th St., by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 24.
